O., Kings-ton 7, Jamaica The steady growth of population, by outstripping the per capita availability of food, is negating economic and educational progress in nearly every pre-industrial and tropical country. In many of the food supplies, particularly of protein-rich foods, are already seriously inadequate. Young children are especially vulnerable to this grave and widening world "protein gap."
