General Hospital, Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies There was a sudden severe outbreak of acute respiratory disease in North Trinidad from October through December 1967. This affected all age groups, though particularly serious and widespread among children. in the first two years of life. Parainfluenza viruses were isolated from many of the patients who were sick enough to be hospitalized. The expressions of the infection, as here described, are on the whole distinctive.
