Enteroviral Meningitis Following Haemophilus Influenzae Type b MeningitisDepartment of Pediatrics Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles
Department of Pediatrics Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, University of Southern California School of Medicine Los Angeles, California Both Haemophilus influenzae type b (HIB) and enteroviruses are common etiologic agents in childhood meningitis. However, sequential infections of enterovirus and HIB have rarely been reported.1 We report the case of an infant treated for HIB meningitis who was readmitted to the hospital with enteroviral meningitis.
