Case of Primary Erythromelalgia in a Child

Erythromelalgia is a rare syndrome occurring in adults and characterized by increased local skin temperature, redness, edema, and burning pain in the feet and, less often, the hands.^1-4 Primary erythromelalgia has been referred to as "burning feet syndrome. "⁵ This article describes a boy suffering from a primary type of erythromelalgia.
