Growing Up in America: White, Male, and Medically Limited

Steven Lee Silverman

P.O. Box 2509 Seal Beach, CA 90740-1509

A subject that must be heavy on the mind of every pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist is "who should care for adults with congenital heart disease." Whoever takes on this challenge also must accept responsibility to work as an advocate for this population and to focus on the areas of health insurance and employment opportunity and rights. The article written by Mr. Steven L. Silverman expresses the concerns and problems regarding employment and advancement that must be faced by those whose lives are being prolonged as a result of modern medical technology.
