Thrombotic Lesions of the Tricuspid Valve in the NewbornChildren's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Two cases of nonbacterial endocardial thrombi (NBET) on the atrial surface of the tricuspid valve in the full-term infant are presented. The pathophysiology and the events peculiar to the full-term infant that suggest susceptibility to this rare pathological phenomenon are reviewed. The difficulties in diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
