Department of Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio A retrospective review of charts of patients with baby walker-related injuries presenting to a large urban emergency room over a 23-month period was undertaken. Ninety-seven percent of the children sustained injuries to their head or face. Sixty-eight percent of the injuries were the result of falling down steps. Twenty-two percent of the injuries required surgical or dental evaluation in addition to pediatric evaluation.
