Should Inferior Venacavography be Performed in Management of Children with Wilms' Tumor?Department of Radiology, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Department of Radiology, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Department of Pediatrics, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Department of Radiation Therapy, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Our retrospective study showed that a routine inferior venacavogram by foot injection is not helpful in the initial workup for a patient with Wilms' tumor since incomplete or misleading information can result from such an evaluation. The use of ultrasound and computed tomography yields more accurate information regarding the status of the inferior vena cava.
