The Use of Poliovaccines

The Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics, made up of independently-thinking experts in epidemiology, virology, and the practical aspects of communicable diseases, has evaluated present knowledge con cerning the efficacy of the two forms of polio vaccine. Their evaluation, scheduled to appear in the forthcoming revision of the Report of the Committee on the Control of Infectious Diseases (the Redbook) of the Academy, has just been released. By per mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics, this Statement by the Committee is here reproduced in slightly abridged form.
