The Problem Student in a Rural School SettingA Model for Identification, Diagnosis, and ManagementBureau of Family Health Services-MCH, California State Department of Public Health
Director, Service Center for Handicapped Children, Redding, Calif. A model has been developed and implemented for community involvement in a multidiscipli nary educational/medical approach to problem pupils. The complexity of the pupils' problems re quires evaluation of this nature. Some of the con straints imposed by the rural setting can be overcome by education and community involve ment. Other constraints are more resistant to solutions. Preliminary evaluations suggest that the program here described is beneficial.
