Ectopia Lentis et PupillaeDepartment of Pediatrics, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, Calif. 92055 A case of ectopia lentis et pupillae in a nine-month-old male is presented. This entity is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by displacement of the pupils and lens. Marfan's syndrome, homocystinuria, Marchesani syn drome, hereditary microspherophakia, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome are included in the differential diagnoses of displaced lens, but can be eliminated by physical examination and urinary aminoacid screening. Long-term ophthal mologic evaluation is recommended because of the tendency to diminished vision, cataract formation, glaucoma, and retinal detachment in patients with ectopic lentis et pupillae.
