Typhoid and Old Lace, A Grandmother Carrier

An atypical instance of Salmonella typhosa infection in a seven- year-old boy was traced to a grandmother found to be a typhoid carrier. She had no knowledge of ever having had the disease, but was born and raised in a community where typhoid was endemic.
