"Natural Committee for Life"

Accepting Death in Our Patients

Gerry Van Leeuwen

Department of Pediatrics, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebr

The thoughts here expressed evolved out of a series of three Child Care Conferences held in the University of Nebraska Pediatrics De partment. Those present had individually and in small groups strug gled with the ethical and moral problems which are associated with the artificial prolongation of life, and these struggles are still with us. We believe these collective thoughts are worth sharing with others.
