Planning—whether planning one's work as a pediatrician, planning a career in pediatrics, or planning for the health care of the population—requires in sight into the way pediatricians spend their time. Even in the clinical practice of pediatrics, work patterns vary widely according to the needs and facili ties of the community and the goals of the individual practitioner. This outline can be a starting point for comparison with one's own work pattern.
