Intrafamilial Infection with Neisseria Meningitidis, Group C

The family described below presented with meningococcal infections of several types: meningitis, nasopharyngeal carrier state, meningococcemia. Serum immunoglobins were within normal limits. Hemagglutination re sponses were based on the elaboration of IgG antibody. The organism isolated was Neisseria meningitidis, Group C, resistant to sulfadiazine.
