Intrafamilial Infection with Neisseria Meningitidis, Group CDepartment of Pediatrics, USAF Hospital, Loring Air Force Base, Maine 04750
Department of Pediatrics, USAF Hospital, Loring Air Force Base, Maine 04750 The family described below presented with meningococcal infections of several types: meningitis, nasopharyngeal carrier state, meningococcemia. Serum immunoglobins were within normal limits. Hemagglutination re sponses were based on the elaboration of IgG antibody. The organism isolated was Neisseria meningitidis, Group C, resistant to sulfadiazine.
