Several Examples of Mysterious Fevers

Prolonged Fever with Negative Laboratory Tests in an Infant

The child with persistent or recurrent fever can present a great diag nostic challenge. Being thorough when taking the history, carrying out the physical examination and then evaluating all the findings includ ing those of the indicated laboratory tests will usually throw sufficient light on the situation to facilitate the formulation of a diagnosis.
